CHILDREN

    Children's Ministries

    Our Vision
To develop spiritually-strong children who have a personal relationship with Jesus, and each other, and to encourage them to reach out to their community.

Each week we make every effort not only to study a Bible story, but also to relate it to real-life applications that the children can put to practical use in their spiritual journeys. The Sunday School curriculum taught downstairs and the sermon our Senior Minister Jeff Crittenden preaches upstairs are very similar in their message giving the opportunity for parent and child to talk about each others’ day at church. Feel free to initiate the conversation on the ride home or around the dinner table later that day.
During the 11:00 service, and after Circle Time, all children are invited to attend classes and are using the Spark curriculum, which is age related and interactive.

Children in grades 1-6 begin each Sunday with an open session where we learn to pray and worship God through singing, discussion, drama and community outreach activities.

Sunday School affirms the home as the center of biblical guidance. Parents are the most important people in a child’s life, and learning about God starts in the home. Teaching children about God is a seven-day-a-week effort, not something that is done just an hour or two on Sunday morning. We pledge to do our best to support you in your child’s spiritual education, and stand ready to help you at any time.

Some of the things you can do to support the best Sunday School experience for your child are:

    Encourage Regular Attendance

Sunday school starts each week at 11:00 am. Grade 1-6 students should sit with their parents until invited to spend Circle Time with Jeff. Please help your child to be on time and attend as often as possible. Consistency, continuity and relationship building are extremely important for your child during these years.

    Bring a Friend

At Metropolitan, our doors welcome all children who wish to learn stories and lessons from the Bible. We invite your child to bring a friend to any Sunday School class or Children’s Ministry Event.

Please feel free to let me know how your child is responding to Sunday School. I value your suggestions and ideas about making this a good experience for your child.

Blessings to you and your family,

Liam Maharaj, Director of Children's Ministries
