Met Ensembles
Music at Metropolitan United Church
2022-2023
Metropolitan United Church is home to a rich and varied number of musical opportunities, which are available to singers and musicians of all ages and levels of ability. Below is a little bit about each ensemble:
Adults
The Senior Choir
The Senior Choir is Met’s adult choral ensemble. The Senior Choir sings weekly for the 11 AM Sunday Service, with rehearsals at 10 AM. During the week the choir rehearses on Thursday evenings from 730-930 pm in Met Hall
The Parish Quire
This choir is made up of singers who cannot make the commitment to sing every week, or perhaps don’t have a great deal of experience. The PQ sings for the 11 AM service roughly four times per year. Rehearsals are held on the two Sundays preceding a performance at 12 pm.
The Jubilate Bells
The Jubilate Bell Choir is Met’s adult bell choir. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 730-900 pm. The Jubilate Bells perform one Sunday per month at the 11 am service. New members are always welcome.
Children
The Metropolitan United Church Choir School (MUCCS)
Metropolitan is home to the finest liturgical children’s choir in North America. The choir, made up of 30 choristers between the ages of 8 and 18 is trained in the great English Cathedral tradition. For more information about the program please see our website at metropolitanchoirschool.com .
The Training Choir
The Training Choir is made up of young singers between the ages of 5 and 13. The choir rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 600-645 pm and membership is open to all.
The Impello Bells
The Impello Bells are Met’s Youth Bell Choir. The Choir is open to all those in grade six and older. The choir practices on Wednesdays from 445-530.
The Met Junior Bells
The Met Junior Bells is made up of children between the ages of 5-11. The choir practices on Wednesday evenings from 530-600. Everyone is welcome.
